The Four Cs of a diamond

the ultimate diamond guide
The 4Cs stand for carat weight, color, clarity and cut. Diamonds are graded in each of these areas. Taken collectively, those grades determine a diamond’s value.
Today, the 4Cs of Diamond Quality is the universal method for assessing the quality of any diamond, anywhere in the world. As the creator of the Diamond 4Cs and the International Diamond Grading System™, GIA & IGI are trusted by museums, auctions houses, and consumers all over the world to grade nature’s finest treasures.
a commitment to clarity
